Bubble tea, tea houses, Asian bakeries and dessert shops in this group are usually walk-in, counter-order businesses with a menu board overhead listing sweetness and ice levels you can adjust when ordering. Standard bubble tea customization includes sugar level (0-100%), ice level, and a choice of toppings like boba pearls, pudding or jelly, usually at a small extra charge. Asian bakeries sell items individually with tongs and a tray, cafeteria-style, rather than pre-boxed, and pastries are typically less sweet than Western bakery items. Lines build up quickly after school and in the evening, especially near colleges. Most of these businesses accept cards and mobile pay and skew younger in clientele and atmosphere.

Pasadena is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Pasadena is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Food: I love Beard Papa, been a fan since my childhood. The location close to my home is no longer available so I decided to go to Pasadena location and try the beloved treats. The cream puffs are always delicious, tried 1 original, 1 chocolate eclair with vanilla filling and 1 strawberry Eclair with strawberry filling. My favorite is the original, 10/10. Overall rating for food 5/5 stars Customer service: The 3 stars is because the customer service needs improvement, very bland employees towards customers, not friendly or motivating customers to come back. Location: The location has zero chairs and the place is very small you can barely open the door, or fit in there to order. 1/5 stars Overall Rating: 3/5

As an Endfielder, of course I had to come here for some lovely rewards and cream puffs! (Did I fly alllll the way here just for this for a few hours out of state? Yeahโฆ) Food: 5/5! okay, if you are here for the Endfield collab, better come here quick or else the flavors may be gone! Overall, the shell is quite sweet and the filling is very good (gooey, but thank goodness it doesnโt stick to your fingers much). Make sure to take some extra napkins! I think my favorite is either the Oreo or Dubai chocolate. The green tea was also great! Service: โฆ/5 Well, Iโd be giving less stars overall, but gave it one more just for the sake of Endfield. I hope that employee gets more sleep, she looks a lil tired ๐ฅฒ. I bet she and I can have a competition to see who slept less: Local Beard Papaโs employee, or a person who has been reading Zhongli fanfictions โtil unholy hours?

We tried the Dubai chocolate cream puff here, and while it looked tempting, it ended up being too sweet for our taste. The chocolate flavor was rich, but the overall sweetness overwhelmed the balance we were hoping for. If you like desserts that lean very sweet, you might enjoy it more, but for us it was a bit much.

Review is for food only. Not store or service. Heard good things about Beard Papas snackies . Since I happened to be in Old Town Pasadena, and discovered there was one. It's not on the main strip so I almost missed it. Food: Cream puff (original) - this was the item that I wanted to try out since it's their main seller. I expected the puff to be softer with a crunchy outer shell but it was harder than I expected. It was delicious though. The cream is slightly sweet which I like. I hate super sweet cream. Honey butter puff - the second item I tried. Not a bad combo, but original still is better. There are more flavors but I wanted to try the puffs as they are and not too overloaded with macha, chocolate, etc.. flavors. Repeat: only for the original puff with the vanilla filling (original filling). It is pricey but once in a while is ok.

Great little dessert spot here! Friendly and attentive staff! Tight space but it works. There is a small seating area for you while you wait for your order. Reasonably priced treats. There is a parking lot with some free windows just south of the location off of Green street! They can heat up the cake there for you, or give you the instructions to heat it up at home. Cool back story. Some of the paper signs in the store take a way from the overall experience, but not substantively. Wish them success!
